Description

Celebrate the calming practice of slow stitching in this hands-on Kawandi quilting workshop. Originating from the Siddi community in India, Kawandi is an improvisational technique where fabric scraps are stitched directly onto a layered backing, working from the outside in. You’ll learn the history behind this unique craft and be guided step-by-step to create your own mini quilt (approx. 10” x 12”). Perfect for use as a wall hanging, placemat, or decorative piece, your finished work will be both practical and personal. Time: 2 ½ hour workshop with break for refreshments in the dining room. No experience required. All fabric, tools and equipment supplied. Suitable for beginners and experienced stitchers alike.
