Jilly McCord, originally from Langholm in the Scottish borders, has had a passion for cooking throughout her life, but took the plunge and entered MasterChef UK in 2019. Jilly was runner up in the competition and since then has expanded her culinary experiences: appearing at festivals; working with national brands; holding supper clubs; and offering her services as a private chef. She is a full-time teacher of History and Politics, but uses every spare minute creating new recipes and pursuing her love of food. The best of Scottish produce is at the heart of Jilly's recipes, but she uses flavours from all over the world in her dishes. She was also a Scottish rugby internationalist, appearing 47 times for Scotland and captaining her country in the Six Nations Championship.
Karen Bayne grew up in South Africa, and learned to cook from her mother, before later training at Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London. She set up Extraordinary Eating after spending a decade cooking for private clients in homes, castles, villas and chalets across Britain and abroad. She specialises in offering her clients a totally customised experience, attending to the smallest detail to make sure their meal is utterly memorable.
She is privileged to have access to fantastic local ingredients and suppliers, and to work in a field which never gets dull, and is constantly evolving. She gains further inspiration from her travels and loves expanding her repertoire.
When not cooking with her children or dreaming up menus, she is a dedicated CrossFitter, and also enjoys yoga and hill running.
